Exclusive holiday cottage in the
Baltic Sea spa town of DierhagenThe beach house is located close to the beach, behind the quaint dunes, and surrounded by a pine forest. A small path leads directly through the dune landscape to the Baltic Sea and its broad, white sandy beach (ca. 100 m). The beach house 'Hühnergott' provides high-quality and modern furnishing in a cosy country style with passion for detail.
At ground floor level you will find a light-flooded living and kitchen area and a cosy seating area with direct view of the garden, a generous and inviting dining table and a built-in kitchen with modern conveniences. There are two double bedrooms (180 x 200 cm) with one of them providing an extra bed. Further on, two bathrooms with a shower and WC each, and an open-plan entrance hall with a wardrobe are located on the same level. A wooden terrace runs around the house and can be accessed from the living area.
The attic invites you into a generous and exclusive living area (40 sqm) with a nice seating area next to a fire place, a gambling table, a football table, and a children´s play corner. You can also find three further bedrooms, two of them with a double bed (1x 180 x 200 cm, 1x 160 x 200 cm) and one with two single beds. The precious bathroom comprises a whirlpool, a shower and WC. Enjoy a stunning view from the roofed balcony which is accessible from the living area.
Only for a small fee you are welcome to use the sauna in the separate part of the house on request.
Feel free to make use of the outside area which comprises around 400sqm. You can relax in the modern garden furniture (incl. shade umbrella) on the wooden and partly roofed terrace. Further on and there are 2 to 3 car parking spaces.

Please note:There is a further apartment unit in neighborhood to the cottage 'Hühnergott'. It is occasionally used by the owners but most times free for rent. Please ask us for more information. Nevertheless, each unit has its own garden area for sole use.

The sea is the most beautiful place far and wide – during sunrise, during sunset – and of course, during the time in between. Both in summer and winter you have several opportunities to enjoy and relax at the Baltic Sea. Embrace the opportunity to combine the salubrious climate with numerous wellness- and beauty offers and walking tours through the nature preserved national park “Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft”. We also compiled a list with some useful tips to enjoy yourself beyond the beach.
The winter period gives you a great opportunity to follow the tracks of Theodor Fontanes Effi Briest and try to equal photographer Casper David Friedrich. The clear air, the extraordinary light and the virtually magic sunsets represent the best requirements to draw attention to the cliff coast and forests, the effervescent sea, and the rimy plants.
Activities
The weekly market in the port of Dierhagen starts into its new season on the 9th of Mai. Every Tuesday and Friday, up to the 1st of October, you can experience around 24 different marketers selling fresh and partly organic delicacies as well as handcrafts from Mecklenburg and Vorpommern.
The Baltic Sea spa of Ahrenshoop, a secluded village of navigators and fishermen from the former century, has only become known through the emergence of its artist colony.

Baltic Sea for Kids
The "Hühnergott"
(hag stone)Have you actually asked yourself why the beach house is called 'hag stone'? A hag stone is a stone with a naturally occurring whole in the middle of it. An old Slavic folk religion said that this stone (talisman) could protect the poultry from evil spirits. In the past, hag stones and their representation as a protective talisman have played an important role in the whole of Europe and beyond. In Switzerland and France for instance, people hung up these stones in cowsheds and horse stables to protect the animals from any harm. In Germany you can find them at the Baltic- and North Sea coast and in ice-aged slip rocks in the inland. For tourists they are a good luck charm and a favourite souvenir.
If you find a hag stone on the beach you can pull a string through the whole and use it as a neckless to protect yourself from evil spirits. Good luck!
Welcome at the Beach
When you are going to have a holiday at the Baltic Sea, either with your parents, grandparents or friends, you can be sure to experience a lot of great things: as for instance, dabbling in water or building sand castles. Nevertheless, you will be required to put a big, fat layer of sunscreen all over your body to protect yourself from sun burning.
The lovely beach house `Hühnergott´ is not very far from the sea at all – a short walk and you will be at the beach. From there you go straight into the water. At first it might be a bit cold – but you will get used to it when you´re in. Iiiihh, bäh – it tastes like salt!
You can pick up shells at the beach to decorate your sand castle and give it a personal touch.
And if the weather is at its worst – it doesn´t matter. Even then you can experience 1000s of other nice things. You can fly a kite, feed seagulls, walk through tide land, play games, or visit an indoor aquatic centre… and ice cream bowls even taste good at rainy weather.
